What colour spoon do you usually use when you eat yoghurt? Is it heavy or light?  "Why bother?" you might say, but choosing 'proper' cutlery might make a big difference.

According to a recent experiment, yoghurt eaten with a silver spoon, which is obviously heavier than a plastic one, tasted richer. Another experiment shows that yoghurt on a spoon whose colour matches the content tasted sweeter, but when it is eaten with a spoon in an opposite colour, it didn't tasted sweet that much sweet (e.g. white yogurt on a black spoon and pink yogurt on a blue spoon). http://www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink/foodanddrinknews/10141361/Yoghurt-from-a-silver-spoon-tastes-best.html

Interesting! Colours affect us in many ways, such as our mood, the our level of concentration and memory retention etc, but I never imagined the colour of cutlery could so easily influence our judgement. I don't think such a trick can could make poor quality food taste better, but I want to remember this especially when I entertain guests. This could be also used to change your eating habits when you're on diet. If this theory is right correct, white rice eaten with black chopsticks should be less tasty, thus I could forgo another helping...Maybe that's just wishful thinking. LOL!

When I eat yoghurt, by the way, I use a brown, wooden spoon. I like the texture of the spoon because I feel like I'm connected to nature. I pour some honey, collected harvested near my prefecture, on the yoghurt so that it's always sweet. I won't rush to a shop to get some white Chinese spoons just for yoghurt, but if I have a chance I'll experiment myself whether the taste there is any difference in taste when between using a wooden spoon and or a white ceramic one.

I use a silver-coloured "stainless" tea spoon to eat yoghurt with.lol
My mum has some gold-coloured spoons with fancy decorative handles.
I actually don't like using them because...well, I don't know, but I just don't like using them to eat anything with!
Maybe I'm not used to that colour?
But somehow I feel funny using golden spoons.
As for the taste of yoghurt, I think here's no difference in taste whether using a silver one or not if you close your eyes anyway!

色によってのイメージか。。身に着けるものとかでもがらりと変わることもしばしばかな。

Very interesting!(゜□゜)
I use small shallow wooden spoon(^^)
すくうというより、スプーンにつけて食べてる(ディップみたいな感じ?笑)

Silver cutleries make food tasts richer.
Sounds make sense.
Thats why expensive restaurants and hotels use very shiny silver or gold ones.(^^;)

Those spoons never seem to disappear from the shop shelves. There is one or two in my house too.lol.
Haha, closing your eyes will definitely heighten your taste-bud ability!

気がつかない分野でもいろいろ活躍してそうですね、色彩による心理変化。^^

Unfortunately, I've never been to a fancy restaurant that provide silver cutlery, but I'd like to someday and see if the meal tastes wonderful.lol!

Interesting!

ヨーグルトもスプーンを選ぶのね。
そうだ!さっそく銀のカトラリーを買ってこなくちゃ。
私のしょぼいお料理も、少しはおいしいと感じてもらえるかも。^^
